On the Issues...

Special Interests:
I do not represent any special interest group, and I am committed to the ideals embodied in the Texas and US Constitutions. My desire is to serve all of Kerr County with clarity, hard work, and careful oversight of County government.

Fiscal Responsibility:
I believe in conservative stewardship of our budget resources, while maintaining the commitments that are relied on by county residents. We must grow our local economy responsibly and in a way that maintains our quality of life.

Transparency:
As a constituent, I expect access to elected officials, and as your Commissioner, I will have an open-door policy to hear constructive feedback. The proper, lawful administration of our county and application of State Law are key to the Commissioner’s Court. I believe in government that is accountable and clear in its operation.

Cooperation:
The Commissioner’s Court and Kerr County operate with government partners at all levels. Working in a positive way to get the best outcomes for residents of Kerr County should be the primary concern.

TOM JONES ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR KERR COUNTY JUDGE

Dear Citizens of Kerr County,

I am honored to announce my candidacy for Kerr County Judge in the 2026 Republican Primary. As a longtime member of this community, I understand both the challenges and the opportunities that touch every corner of our county.

For more than 20 years, I have served Kerr County in both the public and private sectors to help build a stronger, more connected community. Since 2005, and prior to my election as Kerr County Commissioner for Precinct 1, I have been blessed to serve as Executive Director of Christian Men’s Life Skills, formerly Christian Men’s Job Corps. In that role, I’ve watched hundreds of individuals, and the families who depend on them, experience life-changing transformation. Those experiences reaffirmed my belief that values such as accountability, civility, continual improvement, and setting shared goals create lasting results.

My time as a chaplain serving across Kerr County has deepened my understanding of the people I serve. It taught me the importance of compassion, community connection, and listening before leading.

As your next County Judge, I will remain committed to conservative governance - protecting and preserving the local quality of life that makes Kerr County such a special place to call home. Public safety is at the heart of that quality of life, and I am proud to stand with the dedicated law enforcement professionals who keep our communities safe. As a former President of the Headwaters Groundwater Conservation District, I’ve worked on one of Kerr County’s most pressing concerns: the future of our water supply. Water issues touch every level of government, and during my tenure, we built policies that balanced smart stewardship with respect for private property. That same balanced approach will guide me as County Judge.

I pledge to be a wise steward of taxpayer dollars, ensuring every resource is used efficiently, transparently, and responsibly. Under my leadership, operational excellence will be the standard for county government - delivering results that honor both our traditions and our future. Though challenges lie ahead, the people of Kerr County have always met adversity head-on. Together, we can continue to uphold the core principles that keep Kerr County safe, prosperous, and free - principles like respect for individual rights, limited and responsible government, and common-sense solutions.

I am committed to working across all of Kerr County to strengthen our bonds, build trust, and deliver results. I humbly ask for your support and your vote for Kerr County Judge.
